T1 Energy is bringing solar manufacturing back to the U.S. by building a domestic solar supply chain. Our mission is to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy. Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. By the time you finish reading this paragraph, we will have produced two solar panels that will power American homes and fuel domestic AI. We're focused on building advanced American manufacturing and we're passionate about engineering a better future filled with abundant energy.
The Role
T1 Energy is seeking an experienced Incoming and Outbound Quality Supervisor to lead our Quality Assurance team. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, you will be the primary technical owner and leader for both incoming raw material quality and outbound finished goods quality. You will ensure that every component entering our supply chain meets strict specifications and that every solar module leaving our facility exceeds customer expectations. Leading a team of inspectors and technicians, you will build robust inspection systems, manage supplier and product quality performance, and drive systematic improvements that protect the integrity of our solar module manufacturing operation.
What You’ll Do
Team Leadership & Operations
- Supervise and mentor a team of quality inspectors and technicians handling incoming material and outbound product inspections.
- Manage daily inspection schedules and workflow optimization to keep pace with manufacturing and shipping demands.
- Develop, implement, and update inspection standards, control plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for both incoming and outbound gates.
Incoming & Outbound Quality Control
- Oversee incoming inspections for raw materials, components, and production supplies, as well as final quality audits for finished solar modules before shipping.
- Review material and product specifications, technical drawings, certificates of conformance, and customer compliance documentation.
- Isolate and control non-conforming materials and finished products, ensuring effective containment to prevent unintended use or defective shipments.
Supplier & Outbound Quality Support
- Track, analyze, and report supplier quality issues, material defects, and finished goods performance trends.
- Partner with suppliers, Procurement, Warehouse, Logistics, and Production to systematically resolve material and product quality issues.
- Lead supplier performance reviews and collaborative quality improvement initiatives.
NCR, MRB & CAPA Management
- Own the NCR and MRB processes for incoming and outbound material non-conformances, chairing material review board meetings.
- Drive rigorous root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for recurring material defects or customer quality complaints.
- Verify execution and effectiveness of corrective actions taken by internal teams or external suppliers.
Material Qualification & Compliance
- Support new material qualification, engineering changes, and trial production validation.
- Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001 standards, regulatory compliance, and internal manufacturing quality systems.
- Prepare and present quality metrics related to incoming material yields, supplier scorecards, and outbound customer escape rates to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Who You Are
- Proven leader with a solid understanding of both incoming and outbound quality engineering in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Expertise in managing NCR, MRB, CAPA, and customer return processes.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, tolerances, and technical documentation.
