Main Objective
The Product Manager leads the Product area and is accountable for the end-to-end competitiveness and life cycle management in Chile. The role defines and executes the local product strategy, portfolio roadmap, and commercial alignment—including pricing, positioning, versioning, and volume planning—based on market intelligence, customer insights, and business objectives. Acting as a key interface with headquarters and local stakeholders, the Product Manager drives product governance, launch readiness, and 360° product execution, including senior-level collaboration with Sales and Marketing and participation in media engagements when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze technology trends, customer behavior, competitor actions, and industry dynamics in Chile to support strategic product decisions and portfolio priorities.
- Define and manage mid- and long-term product strategy and portfolio roadmap aligned with company vision, brand positioning, and commercial objectives.
- Lead the definition of local product offerings, including versioning and trim strategy, specifications, feature mix, pricing positioning, and volume planning by model and version.
- Lead business planning for the product portfolio, including the development and governance of business cases that align positioning, pricing, volume assumptions, and profitability in coordination with Sales, Finance, and headquarters.
- Coordinate with headquarters Product, Planning, and R&D teams to ensure effective vehicle localization, timely approvals, and strong market fit.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with Sales and Marketing on commercial strategy, go-to market execution, and dealer readiness, providing product guidance, training direction, and technical-commercial support.
- Conduct competitive benchmarking to identify gaps, differentiation opportunities, and improvement areas, proposing and prioritizing countermeasures and enhancements.
- Monitor product performance KPIs throughout the life cycle and provide strategic recommendations to senior management, representing the Product area in internal governance forums and external interactions as required, and other duties inherent to the area.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a
- related field (MBA desirable).
- 10+ years of experience in the automotive industry, with a solid background in product
- planning or management, portfolio strategy, pricing and positioning, and launches.
- Strong understanding of vehicle homologation, customer preferences, and local market
- requirements.
- Demonstrated experience working with OEM product strategies, headquarters alignment
- processes, and cross-functional leadership.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Working experience related to luxury brand products is preferred
- Working proficiency in English and Spanish is required. Chinese is a plus.
