Position
We are looking for a Controller with 5+ years of experience on long-term, multi-year projects, reporting to the Head of Controlling.
The role sits at the intersection of Finance, Project Management and Operations, supporting financial governance across complex projects and translating operational performance into clear financial insights.
Project Controlling Business Partner
- Act as the financial partner to Project Management, translating project progress, risks and opportunities into clear financial insights
- Support Business Development during bid and pre-award phases, contributing to financial evaluations and contract review
- Oversee the financial performance of multi-year projects, including revenue recognition (PoC – IFRS 15), budget vs. actual analysis and monthly reforecast
- Prepare key project reporting (cost reports, EAC, margin analysis, cash flow forecasts) and monitor production costs and inventory
Project Accounting & Accruals
- Manage project accruals and deferrals (accrued revenues/costs, deferred items, unbilled receivables, WIP) and support monthly, quarterly and annual financial close
- Reconcile project financial data with the general ledger and liaise with external auditors during reviews
Multi-Currency Management
- Manage multi-currency transactions and monitor FX exposure at project level, ensuring alignment between functional and reporting currency
Process Improvement & AI
- Drive automation of controlling workflows using advanced Excel, low-code tools and AI solutions
- Improve and standardize reporting and controlling processes, increasing efficiency and reducing close-cycle time
Requirements
- Master's degree in Economics, Management Engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years in Controlling or Finance,
- Experience in EPC, manufacturing, construction or project-based environments
- Hands-on experience with Percentage of Completion revenue recognition and IFRS 15
- Advanced Excel — Power Query, complex pivot models, scenario analysis
- Knowledge of SAP B1 and BOARD, or other ERP is considered a plus
- Familiarity with BI, automation and AI tools (Power BI, Power Automate, Claude) is a strong plus
- Both Fluent English and Italian
