What To Expect
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our Sales Operations team. In this customer-facing role, you will monitor warehouse stock levels, track shipments for timely delivery, manage relationships with logistics and customs partners, and communicate effectively with customers regarding any impacts to their orders.
Your work will ensure seamless order fulfillment, minimize disruptions in our fast-paced environment, and support sales teams by providing real-time insights to prevent stockouts. What You'll Do
Track and analyze warehouse stock levels in real-time using ERP systems and inventory software to identify potential shortages, conduct regular audits, and recommend adjustments to maintain optimal inventory.Monitor inbound and outbound shipments for timely arrivals or delays, utilizing tracking tools and dashboards to escalate issues promptly and ensure alignment with shipment timelines.Build and maintain strong partnerships with third-party logistics providers, freight forwarders, and customs teams to resolve disputes, ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., import/export documentation), and optimize supply chain efficiency. Proactively notify affected customers about stock shortages or delays via email, phone, or customer portals; provide alternatives (e.g., product substitutes or expedited options) and follow up to maintain satisfaction and loyalty, while gathering feedback to inform process improvements.Work closely with sales, demand planning, and operations teams to share inventory insights, support forecasting efforts, and contribute to strategies that address late orders or sales-driven pushes.Generate reports on key metrics (e.g., stockout rates, shipment delays) and propose enhancements to reduce shortages, such as automated alerts or SLA adjustments.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.1-3 years in inventory control, logistics, or sales operations roles, with proven experience in customer communication and supply chain monitoring. Proficiency in ERP/inventory management systems and shipment tracking tools.Strong data analysis skills using tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or BI platforms (e.g., Tableau) for reporting and forecasting.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric mindset for handling sensitive topics.Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, understaffed team.Ability to collaborate across departments and build relationships with external partners.
