Summary:
As a Health & Safety Specialist, you will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of workplace health and safety programs across the organization. You will partner with operations, engineering, and support teams to identify hazards, reduce risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a proactive safety culture. This role serves as a key resource in incident prevention, safety training, risk assessment, compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives to protect employees, contractors, and visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Health & Safety programs and initiatives.
- Assist with administration and maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS), including annual safety training requirements and compliance tracking.
- Oversee and support one or more plant-wide Health & Safety programs while serving as a champion of workplace safety initiatives.
- Deliver and support safety training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Conduct daily safety observations, line walks, inspections, and audits to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, at-risk behaviors, and compliance concerns.
- Ensure timely communication and escalation of safety concerns to leadership and appropriate stakeholders.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for risk reduction and continuous improvement.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and effectiveness verification.
- Conduct and support hazard assessments, ergonomic assessments, job safety analyses, and mechanical risk assessments.
- Support emergency preparedness activities, drills, response planning, and post-event critiques.
- Assist with new hire orientation, contractor safety management, and other Health & Safety training programs.
- Monitor compliance with local, state, federal, and company Health & Safety requirements.
- Conduct workplace inspections, compliance evaluations, and audits to ensure adherence to applicable regulations and standards.
- Analyze safety trends, incident data, audit findings, and leading indicators to identify improvement opportunities.
- Prepare reports, maintain records, and support regulatory documentation requirements.
- Support environmental, health, and safety initiatives as assigned.
- Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:

- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or equivalent, relevant experience
- Construction Safety experience preferred but not required
Experience:
- 1-3 years of Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or related environment.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable state and local safety requirements.
- Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments preferred.
- Experience supporting safety training and compliance programs preferred.
- Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM, or related credentials preferred.

- Strong knowledge of workplace safety principles, hazard recognition, and risk mitigation.
- Ability to analyze safety data, identify trends, and develop improvement recommendations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support all production shifts.
