What To Expect
Tesla Design conceives complete vehicle development along with other products that directly support the company’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. We care greatly about building products that stand the test of time, even as design and technology keep evolving. The composites and fabrication team supports the creative process by providing form to reality prototypes to preview these innovative design ideas.
You will work with the composites team to fabricate panels and parts for future vehicles. This is not a design position and requires hands-on construction techniques and the ability to build functional prototypes. Primary tasks will involve the immersion into the various methods and process of building prototype vehicles, part creation from machined tooling, Silicon molding, vacuum forming, as well as, detail trimming and fitment of parts.
What You'll Do
Knowledge working with materials including pattern / tooling-board, wax release systems, epoxy surface coats, and resinsBasic shop hand working skillsExperienced part creation, current focus on infusion/VARTM methods of both carbon fiber and fiberglassPre Preg part creationComposite experience in the following techniques (VARTM, Pre Preg, PCM, RTM, CF-SMC, PCM)Attention to detail with trimming and fitment after part creationSilicon molding and casting, vacuum forming, pre-form molding and press operations, CAD experience a plus (Catia, Rhino), digital material cutting (Zund operation)

Expected Compensation
$26.14 - $45.03/hour + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
