Job Description
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum.
To drive the greatest impact, the position does require employees to be in the office three days a week, when not executing in the field (i.e.: plant, supplier, etc.).
Execution of site-specific projects will require travel to multiple stamping facilities within North America. Travel could be up to 50%.

The Role:
As a Press Group Project Manager, you will be responsible to lead and execute press projects for multiple plants across North America. Strategic direction is necessary to understand current plant equipment, operations, and culture which will directly link to future product demand and stamping shop needs.
In this role, you would be responsible for leading your projects and staffing the resources to execute flawlessly. Starting from project scoping, requesting AR funding approval, then executing to established timelines within budget. Technical, operational, and budgeting experience is a must to be successful.
What You’ll Do:
- Leadership:
- Develop, mentor, and coach a team of contract and matrixed GM employees, specializing in manufacturing engineering processes, controls, tooling and equipment
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment
- Set clear goals, delegate tasks effectively, and hold you and your team accountable for achieving objectives
- Strategic Financial, GPR, AR & Sourcing:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for assigned facilities, breakdowns, projects and programs
- Lead the identification, qualification, and selection of reliable suppliers who meet stringent quality and cost requirements
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiating favorable contracts that ensure on-time delivery, optimal pricing, consistent quality, and system capabilities to ensure launches executed flawlessly and manufacturing facilities run at rate
- Align and support funding needs to support tactical as well as LTP needs through the annual GPR process
- Project Management and Technical:
- Accountable for timing, cost and quality of the projects from specification through steady state operations
- Conduct benchmarking reviews and KPI analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and potential workload and resource risks (R & O assessments)
- Analyze data to ensure all purchases align with budget constraints and company objectives
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to manufacturing operations and ME leadership regarding project issues, countermeasures, supplier updates and issues
- Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with manufacturing operations, installation, vehicle systems (controls), body, die, sustainable workplaces and purchasing teams to understand their needs and ensure flawless integration and no cost variance from AR through launch
- Support Press Center global activity through resource sharing, low MRL development, communication and project engagement with our other regions. Use existing forums as well as building your own network
Additional Job Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) - Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of experience in a combination of Manufacturing Operations, Manufacturing Engineering and Project Management of people, tooling and equipment
- Strong project management experience, preferably in press, stamping or manufacturing environment
- Understand and comply with all Workplace Safety Systems (WSS) elements and performance and industry standards
- Problem Solving (Practical Problem Solving, Red X, OPEX): Required – one or more
- Critical thinking with the ability to translate information into equipment priorities and plans
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Relationship building & using networks to get things done
Preferred Qualifications

- Graduate Degree: Preferred – Engineering or Business
- Experience in stamping facility and/or stamping operations
