AESC is looking to add a Plant Senior Accountant/ Cost Accountant to our team in Florence, SC.

AESC's Tennessee gigafactory in Smyrna, which has been operational since 2012, produces batteries for Nissan. The Kentucky gigafactory in Bowling Green will supply Mercedes-Benz with high-performance battery cell modules. The South Carolina gigafactory in Florence will supply technology-leading battery cells for new electric models produced in BMW Group's Spartanburg plant. About The Role
Seeking a Plant Sr. Accountant/Cost Account for our Florence, South Carolina plant. As an instrumental member of the Finance organization, the Plant Sr. Accountant will be actively involved in providing month -end close processes, supporting audit requests and manufacturing plant with timely and accurate financial reporting. This role involves collaborating with various departments to optimize financial processes and support efficient close activities. This role will report to the SC Plant Controller.
What You Will Do
- Financial Reporting & Analysis : Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- Month-end & Year-end Close : Manage the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate completion and meeting corporate close timelines
- Account Reconciliation : Monthly perform reconciliation of general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.
- Budgeting/Forecasting : Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights to support strategic planning, and reasonableness
- Audit Support : Assist with coordination with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Compliance : Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
- Reporting Tools : Utilize financial software, and tools to enhance/optimize reporting accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.
- Cost Accountant :
- Prepare and analyze cost reports to identify trends and variances in financial performance
- Inventory management – monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize stock and reduce excess costs
- Ad hoc requests as needed

Qualifications
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related degree.
- 5-8+ years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong software and systems acumen (ERP experience preferred, SAP experience a plus).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost accounting principles.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards. (training and awareness will be provided for those who are not familiar with these standards)
