Role SummarySr. Program Manager, Service Operations Development & CI will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement, sustain, and improve service processes. This role will also partner with the service field operations team to analyze the root cause of problems and develop first-principle solutions for service field applications. The common goal is to drive continuous improvement and achieve operational excellence across multiple domains.
ResponsibilitiesService Process Development and Documentation
- Develop service process in collaboration with Service Field Operations team to define and develop service procedure, standardization, and documentation
- Maintain service process documentation and revision to ensure process consistency and standardization
- Develop thorough documentation of business rules, workflows, processes, best practice, and program guidelines for service operations
Service Operational Data Analysis
- Utilize data insights to monitor service operations performance with the ability to conduct root-cause analysis in conjunction with service business insights
- Validate countermeasure implementation effectiveness and efficacy with the use of data-driven approaches
Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement
- Implementation of continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma and LEAN manufacturing methodology to service centers and service field operations
- Work closely with Service Field Operations team to launch new service centers with Continuous Improvement focus to achieve operational targets
- Develop Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance Service program, process, and procedure
- Create a closed loop feedback mechanism that enables team members to be effective and efficient through the use of business tools and applications
Qualifications- BS/MS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related engineering field.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive, OEM or Tier 1 Supplier with technical field experience emphasis in service operations, quality management or parts operations
- 3+ years of project or program management experience. PMP certification is a plus
- Holistic understanding of vehicle engineering, vehicle quality and safety, service quality, service center operations, collision repair operations, tooling, parts operation, service engineering, government regulatory compliance and service system development
- Experience with industry standard problem-solving methodologies and quality engineering theories such as LEAN and Six Sigma principles (Certifications in Lean and Six Sigma preferred)
- Strong business requirement documentation and workflow development skill sets to transform complex processes into reporting and documentations
- Strong problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong team player, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and detail oriented
- Experience in automotive or technology section working with cross-functional team in managing programs and process development projects
- Experience in startup environment or technology sector is a plus
- Ability to travel as needed
Pay DisclosureSalary Range for California Based Applicants: $94,000 - $125,000 per year (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
