Role SummaryRivian is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join our Enterprise Technology team in Serbia. You will play a key technical role in designing, building, and maintaining the core infrastructure of Rivian’s facilities enterprise application, Facilities Operating System (FOS).
FOS enables strategic reporting and tracking of Rivian’s facilities portfolio globally, including commercial, workplace, and production sites. As a Sr. Software Engineer on FOS, you will be responsible for code development, testing, and deployment of new product features.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and other engineering teams to deliver innovative business and engineering solutions.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend systems and APIs for internal software applications.
- Create and maintain architecture diagrams, onboarding instructions, and technical specifications to support software development.
- Actively participate in code and design reviews, weekly cross-functional meetings, and daily standups to ensure project success.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, while establishing and promoting best engineering practices within the team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve high priority or critical system bugs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Provide support to data analytics teams for system database related inquiries.
Qualifications- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related STEM field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Proficiency in Python for backend development
- Strong understanding with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices
- Proficiency in GraphQL / REST
- Strong understanding of databases (Postgres, RDS, DynamoDB, etc.)
- Familiarity with agile methodologies, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with TypeScript and React is preferred
- Ability to translate complex designs into scalable data structures
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
- Understanding of caching, security, and privacy considerations
- Experience in unit testing and test-driven development experience
- Meticulous attention to system visibility (metrics, centralized logging, tracing)
- Experience using DataDog or similar technologies to debug production issues
