Role Summary:
The EV OEM Quality Engineer II – Data Analyst reports to Sr. Manager Quality Engineering and is responsible for supporting the Sr. OEM Quality Lead as directed. Work duties include EA data analysis of large data sets using python or other tools. This role needs to have strong communication skills and should have experience in the EVSE business with electric vehicles and charging. The role may require some travel up to 10+ percent as needed.
The EV OEM QE II will be responsible for supporting and reporting on EV OEM data to help identify interoperability and quality issues. The candidate will need to have a good working knowledge on the EVSE charging process and help to analyze and prioritize technical problems internally. This person will perform analysis for several OEM’s and work both internal and external performing deeper charging analysis.
This person will support OEMs in root cause analysis for customers who encounter issues while charging at a higher level. In this role, the candidate will be responsible and accountable for OEM reporting that will be developed over the year for internal and external stakeholders. This will include things like data quality, success of charging, and charging errors vs the overall network. This will allow the Electrify America to understand how each OEM performs on the network and how to create stronger business relationships with data to support decisions.
The candidate will work cross functional with various teams in Electrify America to address concerns and issues found that are related to the EVSE to resolve create Jira tickets that can be tracked by the supplier quality engineers in the LOP and with our charging vendors.
Role Responsibilities:
Main responsibility EV OEM L
ead 70% of time
- Lead engineer for assigned OEM’s to discuss technical issues
- Serves as an interface to other internal resources related to reporting and data
- Script and analyze large data sets to output KPIs set between business, engineering, and quality
- Develop a dashboard for easy to understand read-out with OEM partners
Additional responsibilities- EV OEM Data analysis 20% of time
- Apply and use data to improve success rate of OEMs charging on EA chargers
- Work with QC on Safety reported escalations related to EV side.
- Work with product on standardizing or deep dive on topics related to OEM charging
Additional responsibilities- Other 10% of time
- Investigate and support high priority OEM cases from the NOC or call center
- Improve documentation on the data available to internal stakeholders
Years Of Relevant Experience:
- 5+ years of post-undergrad experience, including professional focus on data analysis.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
Skills:
- Conceptual skilled – ability to use logic, creative, and strategic thinking
- Exceptional Communication skills – interpersonal, presentation and written
- Computer savvy – skilled in the use of analytical tools for analysis like Python scripting, Alteryx, and excel

- Experience in electric vehicle validation, vehicle measurement, CAN and vehicle communication
- Experience using Jira, Salesforce, confluence and other collaboration tools.
- Vehicle charging experience
- Understanding of escalation process and working with charging vendors
- Ability to perform data analysis using analytical tools
Specialized Skills (Desired):
- PLC communication experience
- OCPP, Ethernet communication experience, JSON and SOAP
- Knowledge of ISO 15118 or DIN 70121 standards
- Experience with Alteryx and or Python is a plus
- Project and task management skills
Work Flexibility:
- Local hybrid role, Reston office, and Ashburn lab.Travel 10%
