Role Summary
This role will stand up Electrify America’s (EA) Asset Protection Program to prevent, mitigate, and respond to losses committed against Electrify America including but not limited to customer subscription abuse, fraud, vandalism, sabotage, and other losses. The individual will work closely with internal Electrify America teams to assess areas of vulnerability and risk, investigate events, and propose repeatable and scalable solutions to secure EA’s assets. They will respond to loss by processing claims and advocating for restitution. This individual will also interface with external parties including law enforcement agencies, security vendors, third-party corporate security teams, and government stakeholders (in coordination with and under the supervision of the company’s Government Affairs Director) to support investigations and initiatives. The individual in this role will be consolidating, analyzing, and reporting on vandalism along with influencing ways to reduce incidents with hardware, site selection, process and physical security initiatives.
Role Responsibilities
Preventing Losses – 40 %
- Asset Protection program development (stakeholder engagement, setting priorities, kicking off initiatives).
- Key Performance Indicator (KPI) development and tracking.
- Performing physical security assessments throughout U.S. and Canada to generate ideas on better lighting, locking, cameras or site selection.Candidate will be a key stakeholder in site security planning.
- Develop new procedures and systems to monitor, track, and report out to stakeholders any losses that occur.
- Mitigate internal losses by ensuring systems to account for parts shipment to vendors & employees, along with truck stock inventory programs are monitored and controlled.
- Interface with security vendors at flagship sites and private investigation firms.
Investigating Losses – 40 %
- Determine if losses are isolated or coordinated, and take appropriate action such as filing police reports, cooperating/following up with law enforcement, testifying and seeking restitution where applicable.
- Investigate incidents using appropriate means to assist with prosecution, and/or improving processes and systems such as improving the layout of future Electrify America locations to minimize risk based on lessons learned.
- Analyzing data, reviewing camera footage, establishing timelines.
- Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to stop theft rings.
- Provide reports and updates to stakeholders.
- Traveling to survey incidents and meet with law enforcement to push forward “cold cases”.
- Develop standard procedures relating to security incident response.
- Work with Legal to build strategic relationships with law enforcement agencies to support criminal investigations for losses against Electrify America.
Other Duties as Assigned – 20%
- Develop budgets, analyze reports on losses against network and supply chain assets.
- Interface with Electrify America’s Government Affairs department, other charge point operators, to evolve regulations that promote the security of critical EV charging infrastructure.
- Other activities to support related loss prevention measures as may be determined by the company.
- Other duties critical to the Operations and Maintenance team, as assigned.

Work Flexibility
- Role will be hybrid on-site with expectations being in the office a minimum of once a week.
- This full-time position will have flexible hours due to the nature of our 24/7 operation in many different time zones.
- The individual will be expected to support emergencies on an on-call basis to ensure proper control of a crime scene with no destruction of evidence.
- Travel: up to 25% of the time, throughout the United States and Canada.
