What To Expect
As a Facilities Operator, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of critical facilities equipment at one of Tesla’s most advanced manufacturing facilities. Your role will involve monitoring, operating, and maintaining utility systems to guarantee uninterrupted production while upholding Tesla’s high standards for safety, efficiency, and sustainability. You will have the opportunity to contribute to world-class operational practices that drive energy efficiency and minimize environmental impact, working closely with system experts to continuously enhance these systems.
What You'll Do
Operate and monitor all HVAC, hydronic, and other utility equipment in a 24hr production facility to ensure reliable service to all areas of the site. Systems include: Compressed Air, Chilled Water, RODI Generation, Chemical Systems and new utility commissioningStart and stop equipment as well as maintain facility operation through control software and/or field HMI; Execute equipment startup, shutdown, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, adjusting processes based on operational needs and alarm responsesTroubleshoot alarms and instrument readings that fall outside of normal operating parameters, record and report deviations and correctionsUpdate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and alarm cards following system design or specification changes, coordinating with engineering for reviewAct as the point of contact for ongoing process occurrences, working cross-functionally with teams such as Manufacturing, Engineering, Construction, Security, EHS, and ContractorsImprove the reliability of equipment and systems through collaboration with Facilities Operations and Engineering teammates; work from schematics, piping and instrument diagrams, layouts, plans, and written/verbal instructionsUtilize the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to monitor equipment status, create & complete work orders, and escalate major issues to the engineering team
What You'll Bring
Understanding of mechanical, chemical, and electrical system operation and maintenance best practicesAdaptability to a flexible work schedule, including night shifts and compressed work weeksEffective verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail; experience with the Microsoft Office platform (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc.) a plusAbility to wear required PPE and work in hazardous areas, including the ability to discern audible alarmsAbility to sit, stand, or walk for 10+ hours per day, lift 10-20 lbs. regularly, and climb ladders/stairs with knowledge of appropriate tool usage for dynamic job tasksCollege/technical school or equivalent work experience. Applicable documented training and/or certifications are a plusBuilding Management System (BMS) and/or SCADA experience and understanding

Expected Compensation
$28.80 - $54.63/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
