Role SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and dynamic Product Pricing and Volume Strategy Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving global consumer pricing strategies and forecasting vehicle volumes to ensure our products meet market demand while achieving profitability targets. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Sales Operations, Finance and Demand Planning, to develop data-driven analyses that optimize product pricing and volume planning across our automotive and digital portfolio.
Responsibilities- Pricing Strategy Development: Develop and implement pricing strategies for existing and new automotive models, ensuring alignment with market trends, competitive positioning, and overall business objectives. Evaluate pricing adjustments, promotions, and incentives to optimize revenue and profit margins.
- Volume Forecasting: Lead the volume forecasting process for upcoming model years, factoring in market demand, production capabilities, regional preferences, and macroeconomic conditions. Work with the Supply Chain and Sales teams to ensure alignment of production and inventory with forecasted volumes.
- Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct ongoing market analysis to identify competitive pricing trends, consumer behavior shifts, and key market drivers. Monitor industry trends to provide actionable insights and inform strategic decision-making.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Development, Sales Operations, Demand Planning and Finance teams to ensure product offerings meet market demands and financial targets. Provide insights on product lifecycle management and the introduction of new models.
- Price Optimization: Continuously monitor and adjust pricing structures across regions to maximize profitability. Analyze the impact of external factors (e.g., tariffs, currency fluctuations, regulatory changes) on pricing and recommend appropriate strategies.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Develop and utilize advanced data analytics tools to track pricing performance, sales trends, and customer behavior. Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate key findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Customer Insights: Leverage customer segmentation data to tailor pricing strategies that align with consumer preferences, willingness to pay, and regional demand profiles.
- Product Launch Support: Support the launch of new models by collaborating with marketing and sales teams to set introductory pricing and volume targets. Track launch performance and adjust strategies based on initial market reception.
Qualifications- 4+ years of experience in automotive pricing, product strategy, or a related field. Prior experience in volume forecasting, financial modeling, or automotive sales planning is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or other advanced degrees preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analytics tools (Excel, Tableau, SQL, etc.)
- In-depth understanding of the automotive industry, market trends, and competitive dynamics.
- Experience in pricing strategy development, demand elasticity and volume forecasting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of pricing tools and software used within the automotive industry is a plus.
- Strong business acumen and an understanding of how pricing and volume strategies impact overall business performance.
- Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset.
Pay DisclosureSalary Range for California Based Applicants: $125,000 to $156,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time and part-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Full Time Employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment. Part-Time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
