What To Expect
This position is expected to start around May 2025 and continue through the Summer term (approximately August 2025) or into Fall 2025 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week in-person. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

What You'll Do
Design and develop service equipment, tools, and systems for the Tesla robotaxi, including jigs, gauges, and testing equipmentCollaborate with cross-functional teams to identify service tooling needs and develop solutions that meet the needs of our technicians and customersWork hands on to build and test your designs, collaborating closely with a team of expert service and engineering techniciansApply your expertise in automation and mechanical design to inform design decisions and ensure tooling meets the needs of our productsDevelop and maintain detailed design documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and specificationsWork hands-on to build and test your designs, collaborating closely with a team of expert service and engineering techniciansDesigning and develop tooling and equipment for our other vehicle platforms for service centers around the globe
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experienceAdditional experience in electronics and/or software development a strong plusProficiency in CAD design tools, such as CATIA or SolidWorksDemonstrated experience developing solutions, documentation, and supporting the deployment of those solutionsStrong inclination for first principals’ problem solvingStrong understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, and assemblyExperience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for cost (DFC) principles

Expected Compensation
$27.86 - $39.00/hour + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
