What To Expect
Consider before submitting an application:
This position is expected to start August/September 2025 and continue through the entire Fall term (i.e. through approximately December 2025) or into Winter/Spring 2026 if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

We are the charging-data-modeling team that uses data analytics and machine learning to bridge the engineering, service, deployment and operation of Tesla’s charging infrastructure and to enhance the charging experience worldwide. With over 60,000 Superchargers and several thousand destination charging sites around the world, Tesla’s charging solution aims to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy by enabling electric mobility without compromises. We use large-scale data analysis and machine learning models to decide the deployment of the charging infrastructure in terms of location, timing and quantity. We build algorithms that power the vehicle UI features for enhancing the charging experience while minimizing the charging costs to customers.

What You'll Bring
Pursuing a degree in a quantitative field e.g., (Math, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering) or related fieldStrong programming skills with a solid foundation in data structures and algorithmsProficiency in data analysis, modeling in PythonProficiency in SQL relational databases and/or NoSQL databasesExperience with statistical data analysis and machine learningBackground in statistical learning with experience in using both supervised and unsupervised modelsExperience with experiment design and causal inference methodsExperience with timeseries or geospatial datasetsExperience with Spark, Hadoop and streaming dataQuantitative projects available online (github, blog posts, etc.)

Expected Compensation
$20.00 - $50.00/hour + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
