The partnership is building three EV battery plants. One plant is located in Stanton, Tennessee at BlueOval City and twin plants will stand in Glendale, Kentucky at BlueOval SK Battery Park.
Role and Responsibilities: (day to day expected job duties):
The MES (Manufacturing Execution System) Specialist is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of MES solutions to support manufacturing processes. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth system operations and process improvements.
• Core MES Responsibilities: MES Process Design & Implementation: Analyze, design, develop, test, and implement improvements or innovations pertaining to the Manufacturing Execution System(MES) processes and functions, specifically focused on electrode, assembly, formation, and module-based standard information.

• Production System Management: Oversee the detailed production planning and operations, leveraging the capabilities of the MES system. Operate local sites(SOR/SOP) and provide immediate support during system malfunctions.
• Manufacturing Process Establishment: Define and guide the establishment of efficient manufacturing system processes within the realms of process management, quality management, and equipment management.
• Production Activity Monitoring: Harness MES systems to track production performance, ensuring the alignment of activities with established standards and benchmarks.
• Training & Support: Spearhead user training sessions on MES systems and offer consistent support to team members, fostering an environment of continuous learning and system efficiency.
• Troubleshooting & Prevention: Act proactively to address manufacturing site issues, troubleshoot system anomalies, and strategize preventive measures.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional departments to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration. Prior to meetings, gather and organize detailed information on discussion points, providing comprehensive reports to managers. Lead discussions using prepared materials and ensure key points are communicated effectively. Following meetings, summarize outcomes and establish actionable plans to address identified concerns.
• Technical Records and Reporting: Responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation and reports related to the system process design and implementation, ensuring accurate and comprehensive records of all activities and outcomes.
• Proactive & Open-Minded Approach: Approach new tasks and challenges with a positive, solution-oriented mindset. Embrace flexibility in handling new responsibilities and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• This position would require 5% to 25% travel annually between partner manufacturing sites in other states (TN, GA).
Minimum Requirements (skills required to do this job; list at least 3 that are quantifiable):
• Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience in the manufacturing industry, with a strong focus on MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems).
o Junior Level : 2 to 4 year hands-on work experience
o Senior Level : 5+ year hands-on work experience
• Proven ability to design and implement MES systems—particularly in the EV battery, automotive, or other manufacturing sectors—leveraging .NET, C#, Java, or other industry-standard technologies.
• Advanced proficiency in database management, specifically with Oracle and SQL Server platforms.
• Ability to maintain and support enterprise-level applications that are essential to continuous manufacturing operations with minimal downtime.
• Comprehensive understanding of administrative best practices and a demonstrated ability in process optimization.
Preferred Requirements:
• Expertise in IT development, particularly in .NET, C#, JAVA, or other industry-standard technologies, with a focus on system development for the semiconductor or battery manufacturing industries.
• Extensive experience in interfacing with production/inspection equipment, with proficiency in PLC, HSMS, and TIB communication protocols.
• Deep understanding of administrative processes and their integration within SAP systems.
• Additional skills, certifications, or experiences that could complement the role but are not mandatory are encouraged.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Bilingual proficiency in Korean and English, both written and spoken.
