What To Expect
The PEAK (Professional Engineering Accelerated Knowledge) Program provides early career engineers with the opportunity to develop their engineering skills in a challenging, fast-paced, and impactful engineering role onsite at Tesla’s Fremont, California facility. Throughout the program, you will develop skills in an engineering or construction discipline such as electrical, structural, civil, architecture, mechanical or project engineering to optimize & sustain our highly advanced manufacturing production lines for robotics and vehicle products. You will embark on a transformative journey to make a real difference and elevate your engineering abilities.
Structure of the PEAK Program: The 6-month program will consist of the following components: Instructor-Led Training (ILT), Online Training (OLT), On-the-Job Training (OJT), and engineering projects. The training curriculum is based upon the following disciplines within our Construction and Facilities Engineering organization: Project Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, Controls, Civil, BIM, Design Management, and Architectural.
The PEAK program does not align you with a specialized occupation since you will be in a training program. Due to this, you will not be eligible for the H1B lottery, while you are in the program.
What You'll Do
Learn Engineering Principles: Build a working command of the engineering principles behind your assigned discipline — safety, codes and standards, design requirements, constructability, and cost-effective solutions — and apply them while supporting infrastructure work for Optimus and Fremont 2.0. You will learn by doing the work alongside your team, not by owning it independentlySupport engineers and project leads in your assigned discipline — Project Engineering, Electrical (Design or Operations), Architectural, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Controls, BIM, or Design Management — on infrastructure and construction projectsAssist with day-to-day deliverables, including drawings, models, calculations, specifications, markups, submittals, and RFIs, under the direction of a senior engineer and your mentorHelp coordinate design across structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, architectural, and controls. Track review comments, keep documents aligned with Tesla standards, and support design-management routines such as review cycles and action-item follow-upSupport BIM workflows: model updates, clash coordination, and checks that models and drawings stay consistentAssist project engineering / PMO with schedules, meeting notes, change tracking, and status reporting so issues stay visible and get closedJoin site walks and field verification. Capture as-built conditions and support punchlist and closeout documentation so what is built matches design intent Support issue follow-up by gathering information, documenting what you observe, and contributing to root-cause and corrective-action discussions led by your teamComplete an engineering project using the methods taught in the program and present the results to infrastructure and factory leadership
