Lead Product Definition & Configuration Engineer – Gas Turbines

Join Siemens Energy's 5F Product Engineering team and serve as a technical authority for the digital product definition and configuration of the 5000F gas turbine fleet. In this role, you will lead product structure governance, configuration management, assembly definition, and engineering change control activities supporting new-unit, modernization, and service programs across the global fleet. You will collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and service organizations to ensure accurate product configurations while advancing Digital Thread and Model-Based Engineering practices.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Own and maintain product structures, engine assemblies, and configuration baselines for Siemens Energy's 5000F gas turbine platform.
- Drive configuration control activities and support engineering change management processes throughout the product lifecycle.
- Serve as the technical approver for engineering drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs), and product data, ensuring compliance with design standards and validation of form, fit, and function.
- Develop and maintain engine assembly models, layouts, and longitudinal configurations supporting new units, modernization programs, and service solutions.
- Create and update detailed 2D and 3D engineering models and drawings for large gas turbine components and assemblies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and project teams to ensure successful product implementation and execution.
- Support technical design reviews and communicate technical, schedule, and cost impacts to stakeholders and leadership.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 8+ years in product definition, mechanical design, product configuration, systems integration, or configuration management supporting gas turbines, aerospace propulsion systems, turbomachinery, rotating equipment, power or generation equipment.
- Managing product structures, engineering BOMs, service BOMs, configuration baselines, engineering change management processes, and engineering release activities throughout the product lifecycle.
- Developing large assembly models, integrated layouts, longitudinal sections, product definitions, engineering drawings, material masters, manufacturing documentation, and complex mechanical system configurations.
- Using CAD and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems such as NX, Creo, Teamcenter, AutoCAD, SAP, or similar ERP, engineering data management, and product governance platforms.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, form, fit, and function validation, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, interface management, configuration control.
