The mission has started. We proudly announce that in our Battery Valley we are starting our own battery cell production and the ramp up of our worldwide headquarters for global cell manufacturing. The Purchasing unit is the interface to the supplier market and is thus responsible for a large part of the value creation. The responsibilities range from raw material purchasing to supplier management and plant purchasing to value engineering.
Your Role And Key Responsibilities
- Strong expertise in battery raw material supply chains, particularly at the interface of mining, refining, and battery/cell production
- Proven ability to conduct independent research and in-depth analyses of nickel and cobalt markets
- Solid understanding of technical feasibility and commercial evaluation of suppliers, projects, and proposals
- Experience ensuring material availability, cost competitiveness, and ESG compliance across sourcing activities
- In-depth knowledge of battery raw materials markets, including pricing mechanisms and cost drivers
- Ability to analyze market trends, developments, and forecasts in the global battery materials industry
- Established network and capability to build and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders (miners, refiners, OEMs, traders)
- Strong negotiation skills with experience in complex commercial agreements and contracts
- Analytical mindset combined with strategic sourcing expertise
- High level of commercial acumen and risk awareness in raw material procurement
What You Bring To The Team
- Degree in mining, metallurgy, chemistry, or a related field (BSc, MSc, or PhD), or several years of relevant professional experience in a comparable role
- In-depth expertise in at least one segment of the battery raw materials value chain, such as mining, processing, refining, or pCAM production
- Strong technical understanding of material properties, processes, and supply chain interdependencies within the battery materials industry
- Ability to translate technical knowledge into commercial and sourcing decisions
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
- High level of analytical thinking and problem-solving capability in complex technical-commercial environments
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with cross-functional and external stakeholders
- Self-driven and capable of working independently in an international and fast-paced environment
What Makes You Stand Out
- Additional foreign language skills beyond English, enabling effective collaboration with international stakeholders
- Professional experience in the chemical and/or mining industry, preferably with exposure to battery raw materials
- Familiarity with global supplier landscapes in nickel and cobalt markets
- Experience working in cross-cultural and interdisciplinary teams
- Understanding of industrial processes and market dynamics within the battery materials ecosystem
