What To Expect
An integral member of Tesla's Permitting Team, the Permitting Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the permitting process progresses smoothly. Tesla is a demanding, fast paced, and exciting environment where disciplined, self-motivated individuals can grow and excel. To contribute to this mission, the Permitting Coordinator will efficiently gather and submit specified plans, supplemental documents, and application materials required by local building and planning departments to permit the design and construction of Giga Texas Tesla projects.
What You'll Do
Submit, track, and file building, fire, temporary, and supplemental permits with local municipalities promptlyCommunicate proactively with internal teams and jurisdictional officials to resolve workflow obstacles and process changesMaintain and update internal databases, permit trackers, and spreadsheets in real timeManage all permit-related documentation, including organizing files and ensuring compliance with state accessibility regulations and standardsMonitor permit due dates, facilitate timely issuance, and follow up on stalled cases to expedite approvalsIdentify inefficiencies in internal tracking systems and propose process improvements for permit submissionsEnsure accurate and complete application materials are prepared and submitted for Giga Texas projects
What You'll Bring
2+ years of experience in architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) fields, with direct work on construction permitsProficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)Exceptional written, verbal, and team communication skillsHighly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple deadlinesProactive, self-motivated, and adaptable to a fast-paced environmentAbility to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholdersFamiliarity with Texas-specific compliance standards (e.g., accessibility documentation)
