EPG is partnering with a well-funded, fast-growing engineering company to hire a Power Electronics Engineer. The company has a strong track record in high-voltage power and energy-storage technology and is building a new high-voltage product line from a clean sheet. In this role, you will own the high-voltage power stage from architecture through production and lead the power-electronics effort.
Responsibilities
- Own the high-voltage power-stage architecture: topology, SiC/GaN device selection, and switching strategy at high power levels.
- Design control loops for battery charging, bus-voltage regulation, and grid-interactive / UPS operating modes.
- Own the converter-to-battery-to-system power interface.
- Drive compliance to relevant power and interconnection standards.
- Lead the power-electronics workstream as the technical anchor.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering.
- 7+ years of power electronics design.
- High-voltage (600V+) converter design taken from concept to production.
- Bidirectional converter experience (charger/inverter).
- SiC/GaN device experience with thermal and EMI design.
- Onsite in the Pacific Northwest. Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship (US Persons only, export-control requirement).
Preferred Qualifications
- EV traction inverter experience (high-voltage platforms).
- Grid-tied or UPS inverter experience for stationary storage.
- Familiarity with power and interconnection standards (e.g., UL 1741, IEEE 1547).
- Clean-sheet / new product line experience.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual performance bonus: eligible for an annual performance-based bonus (typically around 7 to 8% at this level), awarded on performance after you join.
- Equity: a company stock option program is planned, with leadership committed to rolling it out by the end of the year.
- Health coverage: approximately 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision for you and your family.
- Retirement: 401(k) with match.
- The opportunity: join a well-funded, fast-moving company building a clean-sheet high-voltage product from concept to production, where your work ships rather than sits on a shelf.
