As a Technical Supervisor you will have the critical task of managing the priorities and tasks of the engineering technician team. Your experience in fast-paced production lines as well as strong technical background will make you an ideal candidate for this role. You have a passion for employee development and enjoy the process of training and developing the next generation of engineers. You are very hands-on, energetic, and have a capacity to think critically on many different complicated processes. What You'll Do
Provide technical training to all technicians (8D, Kaizen, DMAIC, lean principles)Collaborate with the process and quality teams to support on-going projectsWork with shift managers and other production supervisors daily to create prioritiesWork with cross-functional teams including process engineering, equipment engineering and maintenance teamsWork with the training coordinators ensuring manufacturing Instructions, versatility matrices and other technical documentation are currentTesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams’ safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operationsReports OEE (cycle time/availability/performance) and required headcount for each area
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent experience5+ years’ experience working in a production engineering role3+ years managing teams of people in a production environmentMust have experience managing direct reports in a production environmentKnowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing and 6-Sigma principlesMust have command of the English language both written and verbal Proficient with MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
