What To Expect
As a Construction Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the execution of various self-perform construction projects. You will lead our internal Tesla Construction team and collaborate cross-functionally with base build, construction engineering, and manufacturing engineering departments to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
What You'll Do
Lead a team of Project Coordinators, Buyers, Superintendents, and craft personnelFoster a company-wide culture focused on safety and qualityConduct constructability reviews of design packages and manage project risks/opportunities throughout the lifecycleMaintain a proactive, can-do attitude to align stakeholders with project goalsEnsure compliance with QA/QC requirements and interface with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and commissioning teamsConduct Lessons Learned sessions during and after each projectEnforce high standards for document configuration control (including RFI incorporation into Record drawings) and manage Change Control for all new scope
What You'll Bring
Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or civil/structural/architectural fields, including 5 years as a Project Manager managing projects valued at $25M or moreBachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience; MBA or PMP certification preferredProficiency in material take-offs, estimating, reading, interpreting, and managing changes to construction drawingsStrong skills in construction baseline development, change control, cost/schedule performance, and variance analysisExcellent written and verbal communication and presentation skillsWillingness to engage hands-on as needed to achieve objectives, lead teams through challenging projects, and thrive in a high-performance, cross-functional environment with tight timelines and ambitious goalsOpenness to new ideas, a commitment to continuous learning, and willingness to travel to various project locations as required (up to 50%), often on short notice
