Job Description
The IIoT Platform Expert is responsible for the deployment and industrialization of the Edge platform across ACC plants.
The role ensures the successful implementation of data collection, connectivity, and real-time processing capabilities at the edge, supporting manufacturing operations.
The position acts as a key interface between IT, OT (automation), Data teams, and external partners to guarantee consistent deployment aligned with the target architecture and Edge roadmap.
The Main Missions For This Role Are
- Delivery & Deployement:
- Lead the deployment and industrialization of the IIoT platform across ACC manufacturing sites.
- Own the delivery roadmap for IIoT infrastructure, industrial connectivity, and local data processing capabilities.
- Coordinate internal teams, system integrators, technology partners, and automation vendors.
- Define deployment strategies, site onboarding plans, and rollout roadmaps.
- Ensure delivery of projects within scope, timeline, quality, and budget objectives.
- Ensure alignment with ACC Enterprise Architecture principles and industrial digitalization roadmap.
- Architecture & Technical Authority:
- Act as technical authority for IIoT technologies across ACC.
- Define and maintain IIoT reference architectures, standards, and deployment models.
- Govern industrial connectivity protocols and communication patterns (OPC-UA, MQTT, APIs, etc.).
- Ensure consistency of implementations across sites and manufacturing environments.
- Support architecture reviews and key technical decisions.
- Drive adoption of scalable, reusable, and standardized IIoT solutions.
- Ensure integration with ACC Enterprise Data Platform and Enterprise Data Flow Architecture.
- Operational Ownership:
- Maintain the long-term integrity, availability, performance, and resilience of the IIoT platform.
- Define monitoring, observability, support, and incident management processes.
- Govern platform lifecycle management, capacity planning, and scalability.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for platform-related issues.
- Ensure smooth transition from project delivery to operational support.
- Manage backlog, continuous improvement initiatives, and technical debt reduction.
- Act as product owner for the evolution of the IIoT platform.
- Governance & Standards:
- Define and enforce IIoT governance across ACC sites.
- Establish onboarding procedures and deployment standards for new plants and use cases.
- Maintain implementation guidelines, reusable assets, templates, and best practices.
- Review technical solutions and approve deviations from platform standards.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, industrial network, and data governance requirements.
- Manage lifecycle and standardization of edge technologies and platform components.
- OT / IT Convergence:
- Act as a bridge between Manufacturing, Automation, Industrial IT, Enterprise IT, and Data teams.
- Support deployment of industrial data flows from shopfloor assets to enterprise platforms.
- Ensure reliable, secure, and low-latency connectivity supporting manufacturing operations.
- Drive standardization of industrial connectivity and edge services across ACC plants.
- Facilitate integration between industrial equipment, MES, historians, data platforms, and enterprise applications.
- Support the expansion of ACC's industrial digital foundation across existing and future manufacturing sites.
- Internal Enablement
- Coach and support Data Engineers, Automation Engineers, Industrial IT and Digital teams.
- Promote deployment standards, best practices, and platform adoption.
- Drive knowledge transfer and capability-building across ACC organizations.
- Contribute to onboarding and upskilling of internal teams.
- KPIs:
- % of IIoT deployments delivered on time and within scope

Profile
Knowledge/Know how:
- Strong knowledge of industrial IT and OT ecosystems: PLC, SCADA, MES, Historians and Manufacturing Systems
- Strong understanding of IIoT, Edge Computing and industrial digitalization architectures
- Knowledge of industrial connectivity protocols and standards (OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, etc.)
- Understanding of data acquisition, streaming, buffering and real-time processing architectures
- Knowledge of IIoT platforms and cloud integration patterns in Azure environments
- Understanding of industrial cybersecurity principles and network segmentation
- Knowledge of high availability, resiliency and operational continuity requirements in manufacturing environments
- Understanding of data platforms and edge-to-cloud integration architectures
- Project and program management skills (Agile, hybrid delivery)
Experience
- Significant experience in IIoT, Industrial IT, OT or Edge Computing environments
- Proven experience delivering large-scale industrial digitalization and platform deployment projects
- 10+ years of experience in Industrial IT, Automation, Manufacturing Systems, IIoT or Platform Engineering
- Experience in multi-site manufacturing deployment programs
- Experience working with production-critical environments and manufacturing operations
- Experience with OT/IT convergence initiatives
- Experience managing external vendors, integrators and technology partners
- Experience defining and scaling deployment methodologies across multiple industrial sites
