This role plays a critical part in how our People team scales—partnering closely with PBPs, People Operations, and the HRIS (PTech) team to ensure our systems are accurate, efficient, and aligned with business and compliance needs.
You’ll serve as a key bridge between People and IT, owning process optimization in Workday, supporting system changes and testing, and helping ensure our data and workflows are reliable, scalable, and audit-ready.
This role reports to the Director of People Operations, Systems, and Analytics (POSA). As a member of the POSA team, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape company-wide processes, influence Aurora’s culture, and support employees of all levels and teams.
In this role you will
- HRIS Support & Process Optimization
- Own and optimize Workday processes and structures (e.g. supervisory orgs, positions, requisitions, etc), leveraging deep knowledge of system architecture
- Execute and audit high-volume, complex data changes (EIBs) with strong validation and control mechanisms to ensure data integrity
- Configure and run Workday reports to support various People team needs
- Transform critical HR lifecycle transactions by shifting manual processes to manager self-service and automated workflows
- Serve as the primary bridge between People and HRIS (PTech), translating business requirements into system solutions, influencing design decisions, and resolving issues through root cause analysis
- Testing & Compliance
- Lead system testing (UAT) for Workday releases, enhancements, and business process updates, including test planning, execution, and defect management
- Support compliance requirements and reporting (e.g., EEO-1, ACA, I-9, and state/local regulations) with accurate, well-documented data and processes
- Continuous Improvement & AI Enablement
- Drive operational improvements by identifying high-risk, manual, or error-prone workflows and implementing standardized, automated, or AI-enabled solutions
- Document workflows, train AI agents, and develop self-service tools to improve employee and manager experience
- Train and upskill team members on business processes, Workday configuration, data management, testing, and mass data loads (EIBs)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years in HR Operations, HRIS, or People Systems roles, with strong hands-on Workday experience
- Proficiency in executing mass data changes (eg EIBs) and maintaining high standards of data accuracy and integrity
- Experience leading system testing (UAT), including test planning, execution, and defect management for system updates or process changes
- Strong understanding of HR data, workflows, and lifecycle processes, with the ability to identify issues and implement scalable solutions
- Experience leveraging digital tools and AI assistants to improve efficiency, documentation, and workflows
- Ability to partner with business stakeholders and technical teams, translating requirements into system solutions
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive and confidential information
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience optimizing Workday business processes, org structures, and data management frameworks
- Experience supporting compliance requirements and audits, with a solid understanding of HR data controls and documentation practices
- Experience training or enabling others on systems, processes, or data best practices
