What To Expect
As a Construction Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the execution of various self-perform construction projects. You will lead our internal Tesla Construction team and collaborate cross-functionally with base build, construction engineering, and manufacturing engineering departments to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
What You'll Do
Lead a team comprising Project Coordinators, Buyers, Superintendents, and craft personnelFoster a culture focused on safety and quality across projects and throughout the companyConduct constructability reviews of design packagesMaintain a proactive, can-do attitude to align stakeholders with project goalsIdentify project risks and opportunities, actively managing them throughout the project lifecycleEnsure compliance with Quality Assurance and Quality Control requirementsInterface with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and commissioning teamsConduct Lessons Learned sessions during and after each projectEnforce high standards for document configuration control and ensure incorporation of RFIs into final Record drawingsManage Change Control Management for all new scope of work
What You'll Bring
Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or civil/structural/architectural fields, including 5 years as a Project Manager on projects valued at $25M+Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience); MBA or PMP certification preferredProficiency in material take-offs, estimating, and reading/interpreting/managing changes to construction drawingsStrong skills in construction baseline development, change control, cost/schedule performance, and variance analysisExcellent written, verbal, and presentation skillsHands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional environments with tight timelines; open to new ideas and continuous learningWillingness to travel up to 50% to project sites, often on short notice
