The GT Broach Operator supports the precision manufacturing of complex gas turbine components using industrial broaching equipment. This is a hands-on manufacturing role focused on machine setup, operation, monitoring, and quality control. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience working in an industrial environment, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Set up and operate Detroit Chain, LaPointe, and Forst broaching machines, including tooling installation, alignment, fixturing, and part loading.
- Monitor machine performance, tooling condition, and product quality throughout production runs to ensure operational efficiency.
- Inspect components using precision measuring instruments and gauges to verify compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform mechanical adjustments to machine feeds, strokes, and setups to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.
- Safely operate forklifts and cranes to transport components and tooling while adhering to established procedures.
- Troubleshoot and identify machine, tooling, and process issues while maintaining a safe, organized work environment and following all PPE and safety requirements.
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, machining, mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand machine operations, tooling interactions, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, layouts, and work instructions, with a willingness to learn industrial broaching processes and advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Detail-oriented and safety-focused, with the ability to obtain and maintain Forklift, Critical Lift Crane, and ACT® WorkKeys® National Career Readiness (Silver Level or higher) certifications.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
