We are looking for a full-time Legal Counsel to join our European legal team and provide legal support to Autel’s business operations. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and advise on commercial contracts, compliance, regulatory matters, disputes and day-to-day legal issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and review a broad range of commercial agreements and legal documents, including supply agreements, distribution agreements, service agreements, tenders documents and compliance-related documentation
- Support and participate in commercial negotiations with clients and suppliers, ensuring that contractual terms are compliant, balanced and aligned with the company’s interests
- Advise on compliance matters, including product regulatory compliance, data protection, marketing practices and other applicable EU and national regulatory requirements
- Develop, update and implement internal legal and compliance policies, templates and processes, and provide practical guidance to business teams to support efficient and compliant operations
- Manage pre-litigation and dispute resolution matters in coordination with internal stakeholders and external counsel, ensuring that the company’s interests are properly protected
- Conduct legal research and provide clear, practical, risk-based and business-oriented legal advice to support decision-making
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in law or equivalent legal qualification in Germany or the Netherlands
- 3+ years of professional legal experience, either as in-house counsel or in private practice
- Solid experience in commercial contracts and compliance matters, including hands-on experience with GDPR compliance and data protection; exposure to corporate law would be an advantage
- Experience in the automotive or smart mobility industry and/or in an international environment is a plus
- Good understanding of EU legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to commercial operations, products regulatory, data protection and technology-related matters
- Good analytical skills, precise and able to multi-task effectively
- Good communication skills
- Proactive, diligent, team player and also be able to work independently and in a multicultural environment
- Fluent in English (written and oral), as the main working language
- Proficiency in another European language and/or Chinese is a plus
- Located in or willing to relocate to Munich or Düsseldorf, Germany or The Hague, the Netherlands. Eligibility to work in Germany or the Netherlands is required.
