What To Expect
Tesla is seeking a Technical Program Manager to support complex, cross-functional initiatives within Production Control for Optimus. This role is focused on new product launch and deployment—helping define and execute how material flow, warehousing, yard operations, and production control should work as Optimus ramps.
You will work closely with senior program leads and cross-functional partners (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and operations) to turn operational concepts into executable plans: equipment needs, space and layout, trailer slots, warehouse-on-wheels / yard design, and day-to-day production control readiness. The ideal candidate is operationally minded, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced launch environment with a strong bias for action.
What You'll Do
Support and drive cross-functional workstreams that improve end-to-end material flow, production control, and supply chain execution for Optimus launch and deploymentHelp define operational requirements for launch readiness, including equipment quantities, space allocation, internal layouts, trailer slots, and yard / warehouse-on-wheels designPartner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Industrial Engineering, Facilities, and Operations to identify bottlenecks and advance execution against launch milestonesBuild analyses and business cases (capacity, space, equipment, cost) that inform prioritization and investment decisions, and analyze operational data to quantify opportunities, validate layout and flow designs, and support scalable process improvementsOwn assigned projects from planning through implementation—managing scope, schedule, risks, stakeholder updates, and follow-throughPrepare materials for program and leadership reviews, including status, risks, open issues, and recommended next steps, and help establish and maintain KPIs, trackers, and reporting that improve visibility into launch readiness and operational performanceContribute to continuous improvement across warehousing, transportation, inventory, yard operations, and production planning as the program scales, and support factory expansion, area stand-up, and related cross-functional launch activities for Optimus
What You'll Bring
Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience3–6 years of experience in Technical Program Management, Operations Program Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related fieldExperience supporting or driving operational stand-up in a launch, ramp, or new-area environment (layouts, material flow, warehouse/yard, or production control), with a strong operational focus and comfort working through practical design questions: how much equipment, how much space, what the layout should look like, trailer slotting, and yard designStrong analytical skills with experience using Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools, and experience building analyses, business cases, and clear presentations for cross-functional and leadership audiencesSolid project management, organization, and communication skillsAbility to influence stakeholders and drive alignment without direct authority, and comfortable operating with incomplete information and a high bias for actionExperience in automotive, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, or industrial operations preferred; prior EV/OEM launch or factory stand-up experience (e.g., standing up internal layouts or operations) is a plus
