What To Expect
Tesla Energy Manufacturing is deploying AI tools across our global production network — from cell manufacturing and battery pack assembly to warehousing and logistics. We are looking for a Product Manager, AI Adoption to own how those tools land, stick, and create measurable impact across Energy Manufacturing facilities — not unused launches.
In this role, you will own the adoption product: floor discovery, requirements, roadmap prioritization, phased rollouts, and outcome metrics across technicians, supervisors, business teams, and site leadership. You will partner closely with software engineers, manufacturing operations, and site teams to turn AI capabilities into reusable workflows. This role is for a product manager who has already shipped software with real users and wants to apply that craft on the factory floor. Expect approximately 50% travel to Tesla manufacturing sites.
What You'll Do
Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI adoption across Energy manufacturing sites, prioritizing ruthlessly against user impact and business outcomesTranslate floor and site pain points into clear product requirements; partner with engineering on scope, sequencing, and tradeoffs to ship high-quality solutions at speedLead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, production, quality, factory software, EHS, and supply chain to secure sponsorship, unblock launches, and earn the right to expandExecute phased adoption programs by organizational layer (frontline technicians and supervisors, business functions, site leadership), and build reusable rollout and activation playbooks for each audienceConduct user research on the production floor — operator interviews, shift walk-throughs, and structured feedback sessions — and close the loop so findings become shipped product or process changesDesign the activation experience: onboarding flows, in-product guidance, training content, and deployment playbooks that turn first-time users into consistent usersBuild and maintain adoption and program-health metrics across sites (e.g., weekly active users by role, time-to-first-value, training completion to sustained usage, and before/after outcome KPIs tied to each deployment)Communicate product strategy, release outcomes, site status, and adoption performance clearly to engineering teams and manufacturing leadership
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience2–5 years of product management experience shipping software or internal tools with measurable user and/or business outcomesDemonstrated ability to run discovery, write clear product requirements, prioritize a roadmap, and make tradeoff decisions with engineeringComfort conducting user research and turning qualitative feedback — including from factory-floor operators — into structured insights and actionable requirementsData fluency sufficient to define, read, and act on dashboards and KPIs; experience tying adoption metrics to operational outcomes is a plusClear written and verbal communication: you can write a crisp update for a senior leader and a practical how-to for a production technician, and you know the differenceBias for action in ambiguous, fast-moving environments; ability to drive results with limited resources and shifting production prioritiesManufacturing, industrial operations, continuous improvement, or internal enterprise-tool adoption experience preferredHands-on experience with AI products or AI-assisted workflows is a plus; genuine interest in applying AI to manufacturing is requiredWillingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time to Tesla manufacturing sites to support on-the-ground discovery and deployments
