The mission of the workplace planning team is to create environments where Tesla’s high-performing teams can do their best work. Tesla is seeking a project manager to lead the planning, scoping, and design of high-impact workplace amenities—including cafeterias, break areas, fitness centers, and restrooms—across our Fremont Factory and other manufacturing sites. In this role, you will shape the environments that support our people every day, translating Tesla’s fast-paced, mission-driven culture into functional, inspiring spaces. You will own projects from concept through execution, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver creative, sustainable solutions that elevate the employee experience and scale with our growth.
What You'll Do
Lead end-to-end workplace program and project planning, defining scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resources in close partnership with stakeholders across the organizationDevelop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets while proactively monitoring progress, identifying opportunities for improvement, and driving on-time, on-budget deliveryAssemble and lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, resolving challenges, and ensuring alignment from design through constructionAnticipate and manage risks early, developing mitigation strategies that protect project outcomes and maintain momentumCoordinate internal teams and external vendors or contractors, overseeing bidding, negotiations, and seamless execution to deliver exceptional resultsTrack performance using tools such as Jira and maintain clear, proactive communication through status updates, meetings, and stakeholder reportingUphold high quality standards, conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned, and ensure smooth handover to operations and maintenance teamsSource, evaluate, and select vendors and suppliers through competitive processes, balancing cost, quality, and risk to achieve the best outcomes
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience3–5 years of relevant experience, including work with corporate or industrial clientsStrong understanding of project financial management, contract administration, budgeting, scheduling, and negotiationsHands-on experience in construction project management, workplace operations, facilities services, or a closely related functionHigh proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Bluebeam, and project management tools (MS Project, Jira, Wrike, Primavera, etc.); experience with Revit and AutoCAD is preferredSelf-starter who thrives with minimal guidance and takes full ownership of outcomesPassion for exceeding expectations, driving continuous improvement, and creating attractive, efficient workplaces that support seamless operationsAbility to translate Tesla’s vision into practical, innovative workplace solutionsWillingness to travel to assigned project sites as needed

Expected Compensation
$88,000 - $162,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
