Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Global Logistics Manager to oversee day‑to‑day logistics operations with a primary focus on freight‑forwarding trucking activities. This role centers on coordinating daily cross‑country trucking movements, including overweight shipments, HAZMAT‑classified loads, and high‑volume dispatch cycles supporting major project sites.
Based in either Phoenix, AZ or Westborough, MA, this position plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence across transportation planning, compliance, shipment visibility, and continuous improvement of trucking workflows.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage end‑to‑end trucking logistics operations, including daily dispatch planning, load sequencing, and coordination of overweight and HAZMAT shipments.
- Oversee the process for awarding loads to truckers, ensuring criteria such as route suitability, permit requirements, safety history, and performance trends are consistently applied.
- Develop and maintain a structured tracking process for all truckers and shipments, including real‑time visibility, communication protocols, and exception management.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for each delivery (e.g., on‑time performance, incident rate, permit accuracy, cost per mile, HAZMAT compliance), and implement a standardized reporting cadence.
- Work closely with the Corporate Logistics Team on bid requests for project‑specific deliveries, taking the lead when trucking operations are involved.
- Support Legal Team to negotiate and write key terms for master contracts with freight forwarders and warehouses/crane yards.
- Manage relationships with carriers, freight partners, and 3PL providers to ensure capacity, reliability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Resolve trucking‑related delays, disruptions, or compliance issues quickly and effectively.
- Monitor and control logistics costs and budgets, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements within trucking operations.
- Develop and execute pre‑shipment trucking inspection processes at the crane yard for battery containers and other project components.
- Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives across routing, carrier selection, and load planning.
- Coordinate closely with procurement and project teams to align delivery schedules, site readiness, and receipt activities.
- Guide and support the logistics operation, ensuring workflows, processes, and performance standards are consistently upheld.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of freight forwarding experience both in operations and managing awards for commercial freight forwarding contracts
- Proven experience managing logistics processes
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, overweight permitting, HAZMAT requirements, inventory management, and warehouse/crane yard operations
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Experience overseeing logistics workflows or operational teams, including creating and analyzing logistics KPI’s.
- Preferred experience with battery energy storage system.

Education Experience
