We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Procurement (EPC) to lead the sourcing strategy for our utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and renewable energy projects. This role is critical in building a localized supply chain, optimizing costs, and ensuring compliance with stringent grid codes .
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End EPC Procurement Leadership
- Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle for large-scale EPC projects, developing category strategies for critical equipment .
- Collaborate with technical teams to validate specifications, ensuring compatibility with local grid connection standards (e.g., AS/NZS standards, CEC approval).
Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Develop and manage a global and local vendor pool, focusing on strategic partnerships for key components and EPC subcontractors (civil works, electrical installation, commissioning).
- Drive localization strategies to meet local content requirements and mitigate logistics risks, particularly within the Australian market.
Cost Optimization & Contract Negotiation
- Lead complex commercial negotiations to achieve aggressive cost-down targets while maintaining quality. Conduct Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.
- Manage high-value contracts, Incoterms, foreign exchange exposure, and international logistics solutions.
Compliance & Process Excellence
- Establish and enforce procurement governance frameworks compliant with ISO standards and international engineering practices.
- Work closely with Legal, Finance, and Technical teams to navigate cross-border tax, tariffs, and certification requirements (e.g., IEC, UL).
Project Execution Support
- Provide accurate BOQ (Bill of Quantities) costing during the tender phase. Ensure material delivery schedules align strictly with construction look-ahead plans to prevent project delays.
