Tesla’s Cell Manufacturing Engineering team is looking for highly motivated Manufacturing Engineering Technicians for an exciting new project. This role will be involved in commissioning equipment and developing processes for cell manufacturing. The battery cell is a critical component in Tesla vehicles and storage systems. This role will have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to our products. The work environment is demanding, fast-paced, and incredibly exciting. The ideal candidate should be ready to push their limits, as they join a highly motivated and capable team.
What You'll Do
Support development, commissioning, and ramp of cell manufacturing equipment, from lab-scale to high-speed automated tools Perform equipment setup, operation, adjustments, and maintenance to meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards Design, fabricate, and deploy fixtures for equipment operationExecute process development DOE trials. Debug and optimize processes to reduce cycle times and maximize OEE Conduct analytical tests, record and interpret data, and participate in supplier and internal FAT/SAT activities Collaborate with Manufacturing and Process Engineers and suppliers to identify issues and drive engineering improvements Troubleshoot complex issues using PLC, HMI, and tool management software while supporting operations during extended downtime Develop operating procedures, training materials, maintenance routines, and equipment documentation
What You'll Bring
3+ years of hands-on operational and technical experience with mechatronics or electromechanical systems in a highly automated manufacturing environment Experience with Li-ion cell design, manufacturing, and testing Strong knowledge of root cause analysis, high and low voltage systems, and electrical safety practices Proficient in metal working, fabrication tools, hand/power tools, and basic electrical testing equipment Ability to perform hands-on assembly, disassembly, and inspections with good manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 20 pounds Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and other business systems to manage and interpret technical data Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with availability for domestic and international travel

Expected Compensation
$28.80 - $56.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
