Job Overview
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical Supplier Quality Inspection Specialist to strengthen our supplier quality assurance and auditing capabilities. This role is responsible for evaluating supplier reliability, verifying component quality performance, and auditing the effectiveness of supplier quality control activities conducted by the Global Supplier & Component Quality Control team within Manufacturing Operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in supplier quality management, audit execution, manufacturing processes, and cross-functional quality compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct supplier background and quality reputation investigations by collecting feedback and performance information from companies or organizations that have previously sourced from the suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier reliability, component quality consistency, and overall supplier performance based on market references, quality records, and external validation sources.
- Perform independent audits of the Global Supplier & Component Quality Control function within Manufacturing Operations to assess:
- Effectiveness of supplier quality management activities
- Compliance with internal procedures and quality standards
- Execution quality of on-site supplier inspections and controls
- Corrective and preventive action implementation
- Review supplier inspection reports, quality documentation, audit findings, and process compliance records.
- Identify quality risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities related to supplier management and component quality assurance.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure supplier quality standards are consistently maintained.
- Prepare audit reports, supplier assessment summaries, and recommendations for management review.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to supplier quality systems and inspection processes.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Proven experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance, Supplier Auditing, Manufacturing Quality, or related functions.
- Strong understanding of supplier quality systems, inspection methodologies, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience conducting supplier audits and evaluating process compliance.
- Knowledge of quality standards and methodologies such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong analytical, investigation, and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Willingness to travel for supplier audits and on-site inspections when required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in multinational manufacturing environments.
- Certification in quality auditing or quality management is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with high integrity and attention to detail.
