What To Expect
We're seeking a driven and experienced Sales Data Analyst to join the Tesla Energy Business Operations team, supporting the Americas Sales and Sales Operations teams in meeting quarterly targets for Powerwall, Wall Connector, Solar Roof, and other Tesla Energy products.
As a key member of the team, you will help own and maintain the analytics stack that drives sales decisions – through building and maintaining production data pipelines, writing SQL queries against databases, performing statistical analyses and predictive modelling in Python, and transforming raw data into reporting and insights to drive the business. You will foster strong relationships with Residential Energy stakeholders, particularly the Residential Sales and Sales Operations teams, taking vague problem statements into tangible and actionable deliverables to drive business growth and success. Your role will also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance sales enablement and optimization, as well as strategic planning, operational execution, and executive reporting, with a focus on developing and refining critical reports and analytical insights that inform sales funnel optimization and business decision-making. As the subject matter expert for sales and sales operations business reporting, you will provide actionable insights and recommendations and contribute to the global data analytics team by supporting data mapping, validation, and quality assurance efforts as needed.
What You'll Do
Write and optimize SQL against the data warehouse to power reporting, ad hoc analysis, and downstream modelsDevelop production Python code for statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and feature engineering; translate quantitative findings into business insights and recommendationsDesign, build, and maintain data pipelines (Airflow or equivalent) for existing and new KPIs, with proper version control, code review, and documentation in shared GitHub reposDevelop and deliver timely, accurate, and actionable sales analysis and reporting to inform Tesla Energy's commercial performance, aligning with established criteria and metricsDesign, develop, and maintain key Sales and Sales Ops reports, ensuring data integrity and proactively improving report formats as the Energy business model evolvesCollaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including sales teams, finance, and planning, to gather and incorporate diverse inputs and perspectivesStreamline and consolidate reports to enhance usability and practicality, ensuring that each report meets specific business needs and user requirements
What You'll Bring
Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Analytics , or related field, or equivalent experience2+ years of SQL and querying languages 1+ years of Python in a production environment with familiarity of data libraries such as Pandas, Numpy, Scipy, and Matplotlib preferred Familiarity with data processing frameworks such as Apache Airflow 2+ years with BI/visualization tools such as Tableau and Microsoft BI, and advanced MS Excel modeling 2+ years performing business analytics, with prior experience working with Sales, Sales Ops, Logistic Ops strongly preferred Strong base in written and verbal communication with a wide audience of stakeholders

Expected Compensation
$92,000 - $138,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
