What To Expect
Tesla is seeking an experienced lawyer to support its general and complex litigation practice. This lawyer will represent the company in litigation matters related to its automotive and energy products and other business lines as needed, including serving as counsel in some matters and managing outside counsel in others. The role requires strong research and writing skills to independently draft motions and improve outside counsel work product while working independently on legal tasks that are broad in scope.
What You'll Do
Represent the company in administrative hearings, court proceedings and arbitrationsConduct all aspects of litigation up through trialIdentify and prepare witnesses for trials and other proceedingsPrepare and defend company witnesses at depositionConduct fact investigations, analyze legal issues, and develop litigation strategiesConduct affirmative and defensive discoveryDraft, review, and negotiate legal documents
What You'll Bring
JD degree from an ABA accredited law school, or equivalent experienceCalifornia bar membership10 or more years of experience in litigation and proceedings in state and federal courts and arbitrationAbility to understand complex technical products and work with engineers to translate engineering know-how to meet litigation needsClass action defense experienceExceptional research and writing skillsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Expected Compensation
$228,000 - $342,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
