About the Role
As a core member of our global BESS investment platform, you will serve as the financial governance lead for our international energy storage projects. While operational accounting is outsourced to third-party service providers, you will act as the principal overseer to ensure the financial integrity of our global SPV portfolio. You will manage and challenge our external partners to guarantee compliance and accuracy. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across Development, Legal, Tax, and Strategy in Europe, Australia, and China to ensure that project funds are utilized correctly, statutory filings are accurate, and the financial integrity of the portfolio is maintained.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of Outsourced Financial Operations: Manage and govern all third-party service providers (Company Secretaries, Big 4 auditors, and outsourced bookkeepers). Set deliverable standards, review outputs for accuracy, and ensure vendors adhere to Group policies and professional standards without performing the data entry yourself.
- SPV Governance & Statutory Compliance: Oversee the financial health and compliance of multiple global SPVs. Ensure all statutory filings are accurate, submitted on time, and fully compliant with the Hong Kong Companies Ordinance and local regulations.
- Management Reporting & Financial Review: Review and consolidate management reports prepared by external accountants. Analyze financial results, identify anomalies or risks, and provide necessary financial data and commentary to the Group Finance team to support global consolidation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the finance bridge between the projects and the Group. Work closely with Development, Legal, and Tax teams across Europe, Australia, and China to ensure financial records accurately reflect commercial terms and meet internal audit requirements.
Qualifications
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines. CPA qualification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience. Big 4 audit background is highly advantageous (essential for understanding audit quality standards). Experience in global investment holding companies or infrastructure finance. Proven ability to manage and oversee external professional service firms.
- Language: English must be used as a working language (written and verbal). Chinese is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong execution capability with a high sense of responsibility. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage external vendors effectively. Ability to work independently and manage multiple entities simultaneously.
