Tesla is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead and scale quality management systems across the organization. This senior leadership role will drive strategic program management, team oversight, and cross-functional execution to deliver transformative improvements to Tesla's global quality systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry standards.
What You'll Do
Define and own the strategic roadmap for quality systems enhancements, identifying high-impact opportunities across Tesla's Megafactory Texas and prioritizing initiatives that address systemic gaps, bottlenecks, and scalability challengesLead and mentor a team of quality systems engineers and technicians, fostering collaboration, professional development, and accountability to achieve program milestones and key results (OKRs)Manage a portfolio of complex, cross-functional programs involving multiple departments, sites, and external partners; allocate resources, mitigate risks, and provide executive-level status updates to senior leadershipChampion standardization of "best practices" enterprise-wide, facilitating alignment between global teams and driving adoption of scalable solutionsOversee comprehensive training programs, change management, and user adoption strategies, serving as the escalation point for high-level stakeholder queries and issue resolutionDirect internal and external auditing processes, compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement efforts to maintain certification (e.g., ISO 9001, NRTL) and exceed regulatory requirementsCommunicate quality system health, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations to executive stakeholders, influencing policy and investment decisions
What You'll Bring
Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience6+ years of experience in quality systems, process engineering, or related fields, with at least 4+ years in a technical program or people management roleDeep expertise in quality management standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AIAG) and proven success leading certification or audit programs at scaleStrong program/project management experience, including tools like Jira, Asana, or MS Project, with a track record of delivering multi-year initiatives on time and within scopeDemonstrated leadership in matrixed, cross-functional environments, with excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across diverse global teamsSelf-motivated with "message to Garcia" dependability and bias for actionExceptional verbal and written communication abilities to articulate complex technical strategies, data integrity issues, and business impacts to non-technical audiencesProven ability to thrive in ambiguity, make high-stakes decisions with incomplete data, and drive results through initiative and innovationAdaptability, resilience, and a growth mindset in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
