EV.Careers is currently seeking a full-time Senior Logistics Process Engineer (JIT/JIS) for one of our partners.
Our partner is an established player in the electric vehicle manufacturing space, scaling production at a U.S. facility. This role is central to that effort: you'll design and implement the Just-In-Time (JIT) and Just-In-Sequence (JIS) processes that move components and modules from suppliers to the exact point of fit on the assembly line — accurately and on time. You'll own JIT/JIS process and equipment development, optimize end-to-end material flow, partner directly with automotive suppliers, and lead cross-functional teams across logistics, production, planning, and supplier management. For a supply chain professional who wants real ownership in modern EV manufacturing and a fast-paced, high-growth environment, this is a strong opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Plan and develop JIT/JIS processes, concepts, and equipment to ensure timely, accurate delivery of modules from suppliers to the point of fit on the line.
- Manage and optimize manual and automated material flow from supplier facilities through dock doors and internal logistics to final point of use.
- Collaborate with JIT/JIS automotive suppliers to resolve delivery and quality issues and keep supply chain operations stable.
- Align premises and timing requirements in cross-functional teams to integrate automated trailer unloading systems into the overall material flow.
- Synchronize logistics strategy with product planning so production schedules match material availability.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams (logistics, production, planning, supplier management) to execute JIT/JIS strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement to reduce lead times, improve supplier performance, and optimize logistics from origin to final assembly fit.
- Manage supplier awarding for equipment and coordinate implementation in line with SOP requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field with an automotive focus (equivalent relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
- Minimum 8 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or JIT/JIS process management within the automotive industry (preferred).
- Experience and knowledge of VDA, ISO, and other automotive industry standards and regulations.
- Proven experience performing process audits (required).
- Strong understanding of Change Management principles, including steering and evaluating change requests in automotive environments.
- Experience with route optimization and traffic management tools/software (e.g., TMS, WMS), JIS logistics, and/or material flow planning.
- Comprehensive knowledge of compliance requirements (safety, quality, regulatory).
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to execute JIT/JIS logistics strategies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to optimize complex processes.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills; able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a logistics/JIS professional at an automotive OEM.
- Experience managing the awarding of suppliers for equipment.
- Experience coordinating implementation in line with SOP (Start of Production) requirements.
Benefits
- Medical, dental, vision, and income protection plans.
- 401(k) with employer match and immediate vesting.
- 20 days planned PTO (as accrued).
- 40 hours unplanned PTO and 14 company/floating holidays annually.
- Up to 16 weeks paid parental leave for biological and adoptive parents of all genders.
- Paid leave for bereavement, jury duty, voting time, and military leave.
- Relocation assistance available.
