What To Expect
As a Tesla Engineering Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational functionality of a wide array of manufacturing equipment. You will be part of a fast-paced, exciting environment where your passion for advancing energy sustainability and tackling complex challenges will be essential. A commitment to teamwork, excellence, and a positive attitude towards hard work is required. You will apply your technical skills to design, fabricate, install, maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation and robotics. You will work with the highest caliber Process and Equipment Engineering teams to improve equipment reliability, process effectiveness, and minimize or eliminate downtime. You will directly work with engineers to accelerate safety, quality and rate of multiple production lines. This is a physically demanding job - working in tight spaces, requiring walking, and standing at times, as well as, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing ladders and lying on the ground, depending on project tasks. In addition, the Technician may wear a fall protection harness while working from heights or from a suspended position. Engineering Technicians will lift up to 50 lbs. and utilize other hand tools, power tools and automated machinery as needed.
What You'll Do
Weld and join metal components (Steel, Aluminum, and Stainless Steel) using MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniquesCut, bend, and form metal parts using fabrication equipment such as vertical/horizontal bandsaws, lathes, drill presses, and grinders; ability to operate 3D printing machinery, handle logs, and packaging for internal customers Operate manual and CNC hydraulic vertical press brakes with associated dies and punchesUtilize 3D CAD/CAM software (preferably Catia V5/6, SolidWorks, Fusion360, and MasterCam)Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for fabrication projectsPerform repairs and installations on more than one of these types of equipment: Electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC 3 phase, Mechanical Systems, Conveyor Systems, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, PLC and Networks, Robotics, order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogues and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms Proficient with pneumatics-solenoid valves, actuator and control operations and can read schematics as well as, proficient with basic hydraulic system operations as well as ability to analyze problems and error conditions, identify root causes, and implement viable long-term solutions
What You'll Bring
Professional Certification, Degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Technology or equivalent experienceExperience with HV battery system manufacturing Experience with Lathe, Milling, CNC, Press Brake, GD&T, Assembly, Testing, Release Experience with operation and repair of pneumatic and hydraulic systems 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks / Catia V5 preferred) Experience with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to operate and maintain a wide variety of hand and power tools, shop tools, and lab equipment, and ability to lift 50 lbs.

Expected Compensation
$27.45 - $40.36/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
