About the Job
Position Summary
The Marketing Manager is responsible for building and growing the BYD Passenger Vehicle brand in Canada, driving brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales growth. As a key member of the local management team, this role will lead the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies that support market entry, brand positioning, product launches, and dealer network growth.
The successful candidate will combine strategic planning with hands-on execution, working closely with regional headquarters, agency partners, media, dealers, and internal stakeholders to establish BYD as a leading automotive brand in the Canadian market.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Strategy & Market Development
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to support BYD's growth and brand positioning in Canada.
- Build brand awareness and consideration through integrated marketing campaigns across digital, traditional, experiential, and retail channels.
- Define target customer segments, buyer personas, and customer journey strategies to drive acquisition and retention.
- Monitor market trends, consumer insights, and competitive activities to identify opportunities and optimize marketing effectiveness.
Product Launch & Campaign Management
- Lead the planning and execution of vehicle launches, national marketing campaigns, and brand-building initiatives.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful launch readiness across Marketing, Sales, PR, Product, and Dealer Operations.
- Manage campaign development from concept to execution, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and business objectives.
- Track campaign performance and optimize marketing activities based on measurable results and market feedback.
Public Relations & Communications
- Develop and implement local public relations and corporate communication strategies.
- Manage relationships with media, influencers, industry organizations, and external agencies.
- Support executive communications, press events, product launch events, and media activities.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging across all communication channels.
Dealer Marketing & Retail Support
- Develop and oversee dealer marketing programs to support local sales performance and brand visibility.
- Provide guidance and support to dealer partners on local marketing activities, retail campaigns, and customer engagement initiatives.
- Monitor dealer marketing effectiveness and ensure compliance with brand standards.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to maximize lead generation and retail conversion opportunities.
Digital Marketing & Customer Engagement
- Oversee digital marketing activities including website content, social media, paid media, CRM, and customer engagement programs.
- Drive lead generation, customer acquisition, and online brand engagement through data-driven marketing initiatives.
- Monitor customer sentiment and digital performance metrics to continuously improve campaign effectiveness.
Budget Management & Performance Analysis
- Manage the annual marketing budget and ensure efficient allocation of resources to maximize return on investment.
- Establish KPIs and regularly evaluate campaign effectiveness, brand performance, and customer engagement metrics.
- Provide management with regular reports, market insights, and strategic recommendations.
- Ensure all marketing investments align with business objectives and growth targets.
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Professional Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience within the automotive industry is strongly preferred.
- Experience launching or growing premium, luxury, or consumer-focused brands is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful integrated marketing campaigns.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong strategic marketing, brand management, and campaign planning capabilities.
- Experience managing agencies, media partners, and external vendors.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and rapidly growing environment.
Additional Requirements
- Fluency in English is required; French language proficiency is considered a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of the Canadian consumer and automotive market.
- Willingness to travel across Canada as required.
