About the Job
Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing BYD Canada's operational activities, including vehicle supply, logistics, inventory management, delivery coordination, process improvement, and cross-functional business operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient execution of business objectives while supporting the rapid growth of BYD's Passenger Vehicle business across Canada.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership & Business Development Support
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local business partners, distributors, service providers, and key industry stakeholders across Canada.
- Participate in business discussions, negotiations, and collaboration initiatives with local partners to support BYD Canada's strategic objectives and market expansion.
- Identify partnership opportunities and coordinate cross-functional resources to facilitate successful business cooperation and project execution.
Operational Excellence & Business Management
- Lead and optimize day-to-day operational activities to support BYD Canada's sales, distribution, and business growth objectives.
- Develop and implement operational processes, policies, and best practices to improve efficiency, scalability, and service quality.
- Monitor operational performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement programs to enhance productivity, customer satisfaction, and operational effectiveness.
Supply Chain, Logistics & Inventory Management
- Oversee vehicle supply planning, inventory management, logistics operations, and distribution activities across Canada.
- Coordinate with global and regional supply chain teams to ensure timely vehicle allocation and delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels and develop strategies to optimize stock availability while minimizing carrying costs.
- Manage relationships with logistics providers, transportation partners, ports, and warehousing vendors.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks while ensuring operational continuity.
Dealer Operations & Delivery Management
- Support dealer operations by ensuring efficient vehicle ordering, allocation, shipment tracking, and delivery processes.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Network Development teams to improve dealer operational performance and customer delivery experience.
- Monitor order fulfillment and delivery performance to ensure service level targets are achieved.
- Develop operational solutions to support new dealer onboarding and network expansion activities.
Business Planning & Performance Analysis
- Analyze operational data, supply chain performance, and business metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop reports, forecasts, and dashboards to support decision-making and operational planning.
- Support annual business planning, inventory forecasting, and operational budgeting activities.
- Monitor operational costs and implement initiatives to improve efficiency and profitability.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with applicable transportation, importation, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain adherence to company policies, operational standards, and governance procedures.
- Identify operational risks and develop mitigation plans to support business continuity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Aftersales, Finance, Network Development, Customer Service, and Product teams to ensure alignment of business objectives.
- Serve as a key operational liaison between headquarters, dealers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders.
- Support new product launches and business expansion initiatives from an operational perspective.
