What To Expect
As a Technical Construction Project Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and executing construction projects from start to finish, with a strong emphasis on technical oversight and innovation. You will work closely with the design team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful completion of projects on time, within budget, and according to specifications, while applying advanced technical knowledge in engineering principles. Your technical expertise, organizational skills, and ability to effectively communicate will be key in coordinating and facilitating various aspects of the construction process, including feasibility assessments and regulatory compliance.
What You'll Do
Lead and manage multi-discipline projects through all construction phases, with architectural, structural, and MEP familiarity, incorporating engineering principles and best practicesTrack site execution and inspections for safety and quality compliance, using analytics for building code adherence. Ensure contractors’ Quality Control and support MEP system commissioningResolve design clashes by directly coordinating with teams, applying design principles and trade mechanics. Verify field conditions against documents and address issues via problem-solving and risk managementMonitor costs against budget, identify savings, and suggest value engineering. Review, generate, and submit RFI’s and SubmittalsReview contractor invoices. Manage and enforce project schedules and track variances. Familiarity with Primavera P6 or Microsoft ProjectHandle project buy-out: develop technical bid packages, issue RFP’s, write contracts/Scopes, issue Work Orders. Hold weekly meetings to address risks, goals, and provide technical feedback to design teamsRead, interpret, and implement Contract Documents/Specifications, focusing on technical assemblies. Ensure regulatory compliance. Coordinate with stakeholders including contractors, Design/Engineering, and QA teams
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experienceHold one of the following Certifications: Professional Engineer, Engineer in Training, Certified Construction Manager, or equivalent6+ years in commercial construction, project management, or engineering, with hands-on scheduling, resource/risk management, budgeting, and problem-solvingExperience managing large manufacturing or industrial projects, emphasizing construction feasibility and trade mechanical oversightStrong knowledge of construction practices, codes, regulations, safety protocols, design principles, and validating licensures/certificationsAmbitious and tenacious mindset for long hours, committed to technical standards, opportunity, and ethicsExperience in commercial construction at a General Contractor is a plus, with expertise in technical systems and assemblies
