What To Expect
This position is expected to begin around May 2026 and continue through August/September. Internships at Tesla are generally full-time, onsite roles that last a minimum of 12 weeks.
International Students: If your work authorization is via CPT, consult your school regarding your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week onsite. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.
About The Team
Our Team focuses on the maintenance and development of privacy systems and tools that helps Tesla vehicle owners understand the data collected by our vehicles. Our Team builds solutions that vehicle owners can see and interact with and empowers us to create solutions that are impactful.
This role pays special attention to vehicle accident investigations and customer claim investigations where safety systems, automated features, or vehicle behaviors are in question. This will require close work with a variety of departments and teams throughout the company including Engineering, Service, Legal and Customer Support.
What You'll Do
Design, develop, and deploy full-stack features for our core web applications, from the backend APIs to the frontend user interfaceBuild and maintain robust data pipelines and APIs for seamless data aggregation from various internal systemsCreate intuitive and dynamic user interfaces to visualize complex datasets, making them accessible and understandable for diverse audiencesCollaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, legal, and product to define, design, and ship new featuresContribute to the development of sophisticated analytical tools that help interpret and understand critical event dataWrite clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in a fast-paced, agile environment
What You'll Bring
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical fieldStrong proficiency in Python, with experience using web frameworks such as Flask or DjangoStrong experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly React.js, for building interactive front-end applicationsFamiliarity with database technologies, SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB)Interested in data visualization and building user-centric productsExcellent problem-solving skills, a strong sense of ownership, and attention to detailAbility to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism

Expected Compensation
$45.12 - $56.12/hour + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
