This position is expected to start August 2025 and continue through the entire Fall term (i.e., through December) or into early Spring 2026 if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time, for most internships. Please consider before applying.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. Again, please do not apply until you know you can work 40 hours per week. This is required for external applicants. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.
Internship Program at Tesla

We provide an experience that allows for the intern to experience life at Tesla by giving them projects that are critical to their team’s success.
An Operational Insight Support role focuses on leveraging data analysis to improve business operations. This involves identifying trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement through collaboration with internal and cross-functional teams to align data insights with business goals.
You will support our company’s operational processes, optimize our operations, and contribute to our business success. As a key member of the leadership team, you will oversee operational workflows, identify and implement improvements, and ensure seamless coordination across departments. You will be crucial in ensuring smooth and efficient workflow management, enhancing productivity, and supporting the organization’s overall performance with a focus on efficiency, productivity, and the delivery of better service to our customers.
This role requires a customer-focused mindset, attention to detail, and a passion for insights using problem-solving abilities to address challenges quickly and effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills along with the ability to build relationships will add to your success.
What You'll Do
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for key business processes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovationCollaborating with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and ensure alignment with business goals to drive data-informed decision-makingReview operational performance data to identify performance trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement, identify risks, and create mitigation plansConduct training sessions for staff on updated procedures, tools, and best practicesFunction as a key member of the leadership team providing insights and recommendations for tactical and strategic initiatives, including operations, process, workforce and automation initiatives
