Engineering Technician

Position Summary
Seeking an Engineering Technician with a passion for hands-on fabrication, instrumentation, testing, and development of mechanical and electrical systems. This person will help distinguish our company with expertise, integrity, and professionalism to create products that exceed customer expectations.
Position Responsibilities
- Work with product design engineers to create prototype hardware (mechanical and electrical) using sheet metal, machining centers, 3D printing machines, assembly tools, and electrical wiring
- Work with product design engineers to improve product cost, quality, and reliability
- Installation and debugging of hardware and software on prototype vehicles & limited production vehicles
- Troubleshooting of functional issues including noise, vibration, electrical grounding, and EMI via use of accelerometers, strain gauges, microphones, and data acquisition equipment
- Support customer issue engineering diagnosis via empirical methods
- Support engineering in the development of key duty cycle information via empirical methods
- Operation of test equipment including set up, data acquisition and reporting.
- Maintenance of test equipment according to quality control plans
- Work with manufacturing team to ensure assembly feasibility
- Maintain engineering bays to 5S standards
Position Qualifications
- Mechanic or comparable certification required
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Powerpoint
- Problem solver – adept at troubleshooting and resolving issues
- Detailed-orientated
Ideal Candidates Will Also Have
- Associates Degree preferred
- Experience working in Manufacturing industries preferred
- Knowledge and/or experience in the vehicle industry a plus
