Eaton’s North American Sales division is currently seeking a Business Development Manager - Energy Transition / EVCI, Gulf Region. This role can be located in either our Dallas, TX or Houston, TX location. Candidates for this role must currently reside within a 50-mile radius of either one of these locations. The Energy Transition team is a dynamic team within the Eaton North American Sales Organization focusing on four major facets of Energy Transition (EVCI, Solar, Storage and, Microgrid). What You’ll Do
The Energy Transition / EVCI Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer and channel partner relationships, helping to close sales pipeline, and creating programs that will drive market share leadership and dramatic revenue ramp for the company with customers in the public and private transportation, commercial & industrial and utility sectors. To succeed, you must have strong track record of supporting sales growth, utilities relationships, knowledge of Code and Standard requirements for EVCI products, a keen eye for technical details, and a passion for delivering Energy Transition / EV charging, power distribution equipment, energy storage, charge management software and distributed energy resource integration / microgrid solutions.
Responsibilities
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Grow and develop new sales and Business Development opportunities to support EATON ELECTRICAL ’s Energy Transition / EVCI / distributed energy resource integration and microgrid strategic growth plan
- Lead and manage new customer accounts
- Assist with product development efforts by gathering Voice of Customer feedback and project specifications to advise respective engineering and product line teams
- Develop relationships with utilities and state agencies
- Develop relationships with consultants, designers, end users, specifiers, utilities, EPC, developers, and systems integrators focused on the energy transition and electric vehicle charging infrastructure
- Understand and follow funding from federal and state governments for Energy Transition / EVCI projects
Eaton & Channel Partner Sales
- Leverage contacts with Eaton’s existing sales organization to develop longer sales cycle opportunities
- Relationship building and developing channel programs to nurture long term collaborative channel partnership
- Annual Growth Plan for direct sales, channel, and partner sales
- EVCI Sales training to Eaton sales organization and channel partners
Technical Sales
- Engage Prospects in technical sales aspects of EATON ELECTRICAL ’s Energy Transition / EVCI solutions
- Site Walks and initial project scoping
- Electrical and EVCI system knowledge for commercial and fleet charging applications
- Interact with design and build partners, project developers, EPC firms, utilities, commercial and industrial end users
- Must have working knowledge of EVCI software and solutions for integration into other software platforms (Microgrid control, BMS, Foreseer, ….) to help pursue and close turnkey solutions.
Account Executive
- Manage prospects, maintain, and improve key customer relationships
- Help Eaton sales organization with RFI, RFP, and RFQ responses for EATON ELECTRICAL solutions related to Energy Transition / EVCI / distributed energy resource integration and microgrid business development
- Provide effective communication and status updates to all internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 8 years of electrical sales or electrical engineering experience
- Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
- Candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of either Dallas, TX, or Houston, TX – no relocation will be provided for this role. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- A Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Minimum of 10 years of deep domain expertise and experience with the power distribution and controls industry, developing and deploying electric vehicle charging infrastructure, microgrids, power distribution, power quality and control solutions for the commercial and industrial markets.
- 5+ years of outcomes selling, consultative, selling experience to executive and technical buyers.
- 5+ years of experience developing and translating business use cases to solution requirements and architecture documentation, with focus on electrical products, solutions, software, and services.
Skills
- Technical Knowledge: EVCI technology, overall energy systems, renewable energy technologies, power distribution
- Business Market understanding: Trends, energy policy and regulations to identify opportunities and develop strategies to market to drive revenue growth.
- Relationship Management/Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationship with internal and customer stakeholders. Understanding challenges and needs to influence decision making and offer tailored solutions.
- Communication: Effectively can communicate complex technical information utilizing articulation and interpersonal skills, proactive reach out to customers, channels and internal teams to generate interest in EVCI Solutions
- Time Management: Effective manage time and prioritizing tasks to ensure important activities are done efficiently.
The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and sales incentive. This position has a total compensation range of $160,500.00 - $235,400.00.
