JOB SUMMARY
The HR Director drives our Culture & Mission by working with leaders and employees to help align business objectives with people initiatives in their designated business units. The HR Director will offer both hands-on leadership and strategic expertise in major areas of HR, including but not limited to workforce planning, performance management, employee relations, total rewards and compensation, employee engagement/retention, recruiting, training/development, policy updates, as well as ad hoc projects as necessary. This role strives to provide exceptional employee experience across the organization at all stages throughout the talent life cycle and serves as both a strategic thinker and a practical executor who comfortably manage both high-level planning and day-to-day HR functions.
Responsibilities & Key Activities
- Act as a strategic partner to closely align the business objectives of employees, management, and leadership of the business units
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention
- Develop and execute a lifecycle approach to talent management focused on workforce planning, on-boarding, performance management, compensation, recruiting, career/succession planning, talent development and retention; Partner with and support Canada HR team to ensure practice and policy consistency across both markets
- Lead and manage Total Rewards programs, benefits, 401K, and any other employee incentives/rewards; Serve as the PIC for related audits, change requests and employee support
- Provide expert guidance on federal and state employment laws (particularly for California), ensuring overall compliance for the organization; Interpret and/or develop HR policies, procedures and employee handbook.
- Effectively manage and resolve complex employee relations issues
- Review and approve bi-weekly / ad hoc payrolls; Provide back up to prepare payroll and related tasks, as needed
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems; Oversee HR metrics, reporting, and analytics to support decision-making.
- Support Manager in budget planning and vendor management, health & safety, Expat/Visa related enquiries
- Coach, develop and retain HR team to foster professional growth and expand HR capabilities within the organization, ensuring exceptional HR service across the various client groups

Position Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Human Resources, Business or related field
- PHR or SHRM certification preferred; Familiar with Paychex and SAP is a plus
- 10+ years of relevant HR work experience
- Demonstrated leadership abilities by managing a variety of responsibilities within your areas of expertise, including: recruiting and staffing; compensation planning and administration; benefits administration; performance management; training and development; employment relations.
- Strong knowledge of employment labor laws and best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving, critical thinking skills
- Agile in business practice, flexible and adept in change management
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
VinFast Auto is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location. The pay range for this position is $160,000-$200,000.
